I am a professor of communication and director of the master’s program in social and emerging media (MASEM) at the University of Tampa where I engage in critical/creative research, undergraduate and graduate teaching, collegial and community service, travel courses abroad, and public advocacy.

Since starting at UTampa in 2012, I have produced 13 peer-reviewed publications and seven films which have screened at over 100 festivals and won nine awards. I have taught more than 20 different courses to honors, production, and media studies students and led six travel courses to five different countries. I've also served on faculty senate, chaired my department, coordinated our internship program, sat on an editorial board, curated an intergenerational public lecture series, and volunteered my time on several community-based media projects.
